Why Making Music Matters

Ever since I can remember I have loved music. I would listen to as much of it as I could and found myself wanting to learn about different styles of music. During my early years I was in the choir and sang on a regular basis. 

When I was accepted into La Guardia High School and Music and Arts and Performing Arts in New York City I was overjoyed. This school introduced me to so much more than I could have ever expected. Sadly, I struggled with the music theory part of the process and didn't get the gold emblem on my high school diploma.

In my mind, it served as a reminder of my failure as an artist. I had failed as a musician and even though I was on my way to College a part of me felt lost. Shortly after entering into the Community College that I had chosen my grandmother passed away. Her loss left me
